On July 6, 2015, the first Boeing 787-9 was delivered to Vietnam Airlines in Washington D.C. This is the first time Boeing brought a commercial aircraft to Washington’s Ronald Regan National Airport, flying around the Washington monument, an obelisk on the National Mall.
At the 51st Paris Airshow, held from June 15-21, 2015, the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner performed a near vertical takeoff in Le Bourget airport, France.
