A golf tournament for overseas Vietnamese worldwide 2017 was organized by the State Commission for Overseas Vietnamese (SCOV) and the Overseas Vietnamese Golf Association in Thanh Hoa province on January 4th.
The tournament drew the participation of 160 golfers, who are overseas Vietnamese businessmen and intellectuals from 20 nations and territories.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chairman of SCOV Vu Hong Nam said that the golf tournament for overseas Vietnamese worldwide was first held in late 2015 and it created a strong impression in the community of golfers and has become a playground and an attractive place for overseas Vietnamese golfers to exchange and meet each others.
He hoped that the tournament 2017 is not only a sports playground of overseas Vietnamese golfers, but also an opportunity to exchange and learn about the sport, promote friendship and cooperative relations, and seek opportunities for development investment.
On behalf of the 160 golfers from 20 countries and territories, Chairman of the Overseas Vietnamese Golf Association Tran Tri Tue thanked the SCOV and sponsors for creating good conditions for overseas Vietnamese golfers to meet and exchange in the homeland’s atmosphere of the upcoming Lunar New Year Festival. He hoped that through the event, overseas Vietnamese golfers would jointly do many meaningful things for their homeland.
Many golfers also hoped that through the event they would connect with new friends to share experiences on investment and business in Vietnam and look toward the homeland./.
