The country now has 100 golf courses, of which more than 30 are of international 5-star standard and located along the coast and adjacent to luxury resorts.
Analysts said that if Vietnam focuses on developing golf tourism, it will be able to attract a large number of international visitors following the pandemic.
“To develop golf tourism, we need to organise golf tours for domestic players. Golf courses also need to actively promote their image and cost among international players,” said Pham Thanh Tri, Standing Vice President of the Vietnam Golf Association.
According to the Vietnam Golf Tourism Association, golf tourists to Vietnam are mainly from the Republic of Korea, Japan, and a number of Southeast Asian nations.
Statistics show that more than 50,000 Vietnamese and 20,000 foreigners living in Vietnam play golf. The total number of golfers in the country is expected to rise to 300,000 by 2025./.
