Da Nang tourism shines with a series of exciting new experiences, offering visitors fresh adventures and attractions that highlight this vibrant Vietnamese city.
As highlighted in a report by the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Centre, most visitors to Da Nang typically stay for three to four nights. This trend is no accident, as Da Nang consistently ranks as one of Vietnam’s top destinations with a high attractiveness index.
Vietnam Tourism Shines with Impressive Growth in 2023
Vietnam’s tourism sector ended 2023 on a high note, welcoming 12.6 million international visitors. This figure is nearly 3.5 times higher than the number recorded in 2022 and surpasses the initial target of 8 million arrivals by 57%, reaching the adjusted goal of 12 to 13 million visitors.
On the domestic front, tourism also flourished, with 108 million trips made by local travelers, exceeding the planned target by 6%. This remarkable performance underscores Vietnam’s growing appeal as a top travel destination and highlights the successful efforts to revitalize the tourism industry post-pandemic.
A Global Culinary Destination
In a significant development for Vietnam’s culinary scene, the Michelin Guide, after debuting in Ha Noi and HCM City in 2023, announced its first-ever list of selected restaurants in Da Nang in June 2024. This exciting revelation includes two Michelin-starred establishments, making waves in the culinary world.
Food enthusiasts often delight in experiencing Michelin-recommended eateries, and Da Nang now boasts 19 Michelin Selected dining establishments. Notable mentions include Banh Xeo Ba Duong, Bun Cha Ca Ba Hoa, Luk Lak, and Madame Lan. The Bib Gourmand award also recognizes standout eateries such as Bun Cha Ca Hon, Thia Go, and Hai San Be Ni for their exceptional yet affordable cuisine.
The highlight of Da Nang’s culinary transformation is the accolade of two Michelin-starred restaurants. La Maison 1888, situated within the prestigious InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, received one Michelin star. This restaurant, celebrated by CNN as one of the top 10 restaurants in the world in 2016 and by Architectural Digest as one of the world’s most beautiful restaurants, continues to impress with its exquisite offerings.
Furthermore, 2024 marks a historic milestone with Nen Danang becoming the first Vietnamese restaurant to receive a Michelin Green Star, recognizing its commitment to sustainability in gastronomy.
A “Giant Outdoor Theatre” on Ba Na Hills
Famed internationally for its iconic Golden Bridge, Sun World Ba Na Hills continues to captivate visitors with its unique and frequent performances, earning it the moniker “giant outdoor theatre.” This summer, Ba Na Hills is a must-visit destination for world-class entertainment.

Adding to the allure are solo performances by top circus artists from around the globe, featured at various stages throughout Ba Na Hills.

The “Fairy Blossom” show is performed daily at 11 AM at Noel Plaza Square (except Tuesdays), showcasing top talent such as Domitil Aillot, the world’s leading male pole circus artist; the famous Cirque du Soleil twin stars, Crystal Ladies, who dazzled audiences on The Ellen Show; hand-balancing artist Oleg Izossimov; aerial silk queen Olga Moreva; and the young contortionist Anastasia Popsulys.

Dazzling Nightly Fireworks Extravaganza
Since its launch in late June, the multi-experience show “Symphony of River,” featuring nightly fireworks displays, has attracted thousands of visitors to Da Nang’s vibrant new “entertainment district” – Da Nang Downtown.
Symphony of River: An Enchanting Nightly Extravaganza
Every evening at 8:30 PM, the “Symphony of River” show lights up the stage by the Han River with performances by over 100 international artists, including 20 world champion Jetski & Flyboard athletes. The highlight of the show is a seven-minute fireworks display featuring unique effects imported from China.
In less than two months since its debut, the show has consistently sold out, with lucky ticket holders describing it as the best show they’ve ever seen in Da Nang.
Central Vietnam’s Premier Puppet Theatre
Visitors to Da Nang can delve into Vietnamese culture at Au O Theatre, the largest puppet theatre in Central Vietnam. Located within the Da Nang Downtown complex, this theatre seats about 600 guests and showcases the Vietnamese Puppetry (Roi Viet) show, performed by artists from the Vietnam National Puppet Theatre in Ha Noi. The show beautifully combines over 1,000 years of traditional water and land puppetry, integrating folktales with contemporary art elements to highlight the rich culture and heritage of Vietnam.
