Da Nang Emerges as the Ultimate Destination for Indian Travelers in 2024, Witnessing a 125% Surge in Visitors, as Revealed by Skyscanner: New Report You Need to Know

In 2024, Da Nang has become the top choice for Indian travelers, seeing a remarkable 125% increase in visitors. Skyscanner’s latest report highlights the city’s growing appeal as a must-visit destination.

In 2024, Da Nang has emerged as a leading destination for Indian tourists, surpassing other popular global cities. According to Skyscanner India’s latest travel trend reports, the city’s combination of stunning beaches, short flight distances, and tranquil ambiance makes it a favorite among Indian travelers. During the first nine months of 2024, Da Nang welcomed more than 151,000 Indian tourists, representing an impressive 43% of all Indian visitors to Vietnam. This surge marks an impressive 125% increase compared to the same period in 2023.

To accommodate this rising demand, more direct flights from India to Da Nang have been launched. Notably, the new Ahmedabad-Da Nang route, introduced in October 2024, operates two flights weekly, supplementing the already well-established services from New Delhi.

One of the standout attractions in Da Nang is the world-renowned Sun World Ba Na Hills, home to the iconic Golden Bridge. A symbol of Vietnam’s architectural ingenuity, the Golden Bridge has captivated Indian travelers, earning recognition from prominent media outlets such as Luxebook, which recently called it one of the world’s most iconic bridges. For many Indian families, visiting this landmark is considered a once-in-a-lifetime experience. By the end of July 2024, nearly 132,000 Indian visitors had visited the site, accounting for almost 50% of the total number of Indian tourists in Vietnam for the year.

Indian tourists also prioritize cuisine when choosing their travel destinations. With diverse dietary preferences, including a strong demand for halal food, Da Nang caters to these needs with a Halal-certified buffet restaurant at Ba Na Hills. This allows Indian visitors to indulge in familiar flavors while enjoying their holiday in Vietnam.

“Seeing the Golden Bridge in person has always been a dream for my family,” said Muskan Tiwari from Ahmedabad. Beyond the bridge, Ba Na’s vibrant castles, cool weather and tranquil atmosphere also leave a lasting impression.

In addition to cultural and culinary delights, Da Nang offers pristine beaches like My Khe Beach, captivating water and fire shows at the Dragon Bridge, and the serene beauty of the Son Tra Peninsula, ensuring there’s something for everyone.

Phu Quoc: The Ideal Destination for Luxury Weddings and MICE Events

Meanwhile, Phu Quoc has risen as a prime destination for Indian luxury weddings and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) events. Known for its luxurious resorts and scenic beaches, the island is now a top choice for Indian couples seeking an unforgettable wedding venue. Phu Quoc has become a favorite among affluent travelers, with billionaire couples often opting for the island’s world-class facilities. JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay, in particular, has hosted extravagant weddings, including that of billionaire Rushang Shah in 2019 and another high-profile wedding in early 2024.

In addition to its appeal for weddings, Phu Quoc is becoming a prominent MICE destination. The Sun Paradise Land, located in the southern part of the island, offers a blend of attractions, including art shows, nightly fireworks, and the world’s longest three-rope cable car. The island is also home to large conference venues such as the Sun Signature Gallery and Sun Tropical Ballroom, which can host up to 1,000 guests, making it a perfect spot for corporate events and conferences.

Phu Quoc also continues to enhance its appeal with new developments, such as the 18-hole Eschuri Vung Bau Golf Course, which offers guests breathtaking sunset views. These attractions add another layer of allure for tourists seeking relaxation and adventure in one of Vietnam’s most beautiful destinations.

With direct flights connecting Da Nang and Phu Quoc, along with upcoming new routes from other cities, traveling between these two destinations has never been easier. As Vietnam strengthens its connectivity, Indian tourists can explore the country’s diverse offerings, from cultural marvels in Da Nang to luxury experiences in Phu Quoc.

Both Da Nang and Phu Quoc’s rise as top destinations reflect a growing trend of Indian travelers seeking new, exciting, and accessible places to visit. With Vietnam’s unique blend of natural beauty, rich culture, and world-class facilities, it is clear that these two destinations will continue to captivate Indian visitors for years to come.
