Here Greg Norman has left his own imprint and has designed a wonderful 18 hole links style course running parallel to the coastline, just 10 minutes south of Danang City and around 20 minutes from Danang’s international airport. The club’s neighbor is The Montgomerie Links.
Danang Golf Club which only open for business in 2010, has already won many awards including Best Golf Course in Vietnam twice. Just recently they were awarded the coveted Diamond Award from the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO). This award recognized the club’s overall excellence and customer satisfaction determined by neutral experts, who assessed more than 250 golf courses for their appeal to first time visitors.
The Dunes course at the Danang Golf Club has been built amid 150 hectares of dunescape and it is a 7,160 yard 18 hole links style track. Here you will experience blown out bunkers, firm and fast fairways that blend cleverly with the wild and rugged seaside vegetation plus rugged waste areas , swales and hollows.
According to Former World 1 Greg Norman he is quoted as saying, ‘ The fact is, you’d be doing a very poor job to make a boring course out of a site like this.’
Certainly dear old mother nature played a big part in the final formation and layout that provides an experience often found in seaside courses in the British Isles or in south Eastern Australia. But taking one look at the courses breath taking par 3 16th hole with long tail fishing boats bobbing in the warm waters of the East Sea and the magic of Vietnam takes over. Greg has created a great 18 holes and you will be in for a treat here. Enjoy!!!
