West Palm Beach, United States: Greg Norman Golf Course Design (GNGCD) has announced the completion of bunker renovations at The Golf Club at Lansdowne in Leesburg, Virginia.
Located 35 miles outside Washington DC, the award-winning Norman Course at Lansdowne is an original GNGCD design that opened in 2005. GNGCD is a Full Business Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation
As part of the renovation, the bunkers were regraded, reshaped and rebuilt incorporating a technically advanced drainage and liner system by Capillary Concrete. This new generation lining method increases the speed at which water flows through the sand and the lining; minimising contamination, reducing maintenance and producing consistency.
Chris Campbell, who originally directed the construction of the Norman Course, alongside Jeff Danner, oversaw the project. These enhancements were the first to the acclaimed course since it debuted 12 years ago.

Regarded as one of the mid-Atlantic’s premier golf resorts and private clubs, The Golf Club at Lansdowne is open to club members and guests of the Lansdowne Resort and Spa, a Destination Hotel, and offers 45-holes of golf – 27 holes designed by Norman (the Norman Course and Shark Bite), and 18 holes designed by Robert Trent Jones Jnr.
The Golf Club at Lansdowne is managed by Troon, an Executive Member of the Asian Golf Industry Federation.
